Bathroom Art

Just framed up and hung some new art in the bathroom and I am so excited about it. I absolutely adore these prints.

Before any asks, yes, there is somewhat of a frog theme going on in the bathroom. I love frogs. Always have. I figured if there ever was a good place to go a little crazy with the frog stuff it would be the bathroom. I would like to think that I have restrained myself somewhat from going hog crazy and have utilized just a few fun and entertaining frog items to set the "mood" for the bathroom.

Check out my newest Etsy purchases...

I practically squee everytime I look at this little guy. Seriously, I love him so much it is probably not healthy. Just look at how cute he is in his little sweater and tie. As I mentioned before, snagged this guy on Etsy from an artist known as berkleyillustration. I urge everyone to go check out his work. He has some other cuties (a squirrel, and an owl) that I am eyeing up - just need to find a good home for them and they will be mine!

And the other print

As for this print, I saw it and just knew it must be mine.

I must admit, I have a tendency to walk into the bathroom and smile now.

Gone but not forgotten

You know, this always happens to me. I wish I could be one of those bloggers that can consistently blog about their life, house, or whatever. But in the end I am one of those that blogs and then life consumes me and I kind of disappear for a period of time. Pretty sad. I really need to work on that. In my defense, I blame school. University has gotten all sorts of chaotic with the end of the semester quickly approaching. With the end of the semester drawing near means my stress level has increased tenfold. Or more. Who knows.

Anyway, I'm taking the time to update about our progress in the bathroom. We are almost done with the painting, just need to trim out the top of the wall. Then we can move our focus to finishing up painting the trim, and the medicine cabinet. Oh yeah, and there is the door yet. But something tells me that is going to be more than just one coat and we are done.

So we say good-bye to Feeling Froggy green and hello to Asparagus green. Kev felt the Feeling Froggy was waxing and waning on his nerves. Just a bit too bright green for his taste. And in all honestly, it was bright. Really bright. Almost bordering on obnoxious bright green. Despite the brightness of Feeling Froggy, I really liked it. No, really I did. But now that we have Asparagus up on the wall, yeah, I have no idea what I was thinking when I decided on Feeling Froggy. Asparagus is such a better color and it doesn't cause heart palpitations upon walking into the bathroom, which I guess is a good thing.

I don't think there is any way I could accurately describe the greens for you, so I'll resort to pictures instead
Old wall color
Yes, that is Feeling Froggy in all of its glory.

And now for the new color - Asparagus

Just for fun, a shot that shows both color at once.
Painting - in progress

In my opinion, even though I loved Feeling Froggy, I definitely see the new color as an upgrade to the bathroom. It seems more tranquil and more inviting.

Out with the old and in with the new

Well, we finally did it. We finally changed out the crappy/ugly faucet in our bathroom. I'm not sure why we waited so long to change it out. In the beginning when we were working in the bathroom we had spent so much money that we talked ourselves into liking the faucet. Years go by, 3 to be exact, and I still hate the faucet. We had the opportunity a few months ago to change the faucet but with limited funds we decided to just change out the cracked and incredibly difficult to clean scalloped pedestal sink.

I'm not sure what happened that Kev finally agreed it was time for a new faucet. And I couldn't be happier. We went with brushed nickle to compliment the light and the towel rods we used in the bathroom. I love it so much! It is a joy for me to wash my hands and brush my teeth. Sounds silly but it is true.

Photographic evidence. Photo on the top - the old faucet.

Below is the new beloved faucet

Of course, Kev had some assistants while putting in the new faucet.

Both of them had to check out what was going on. Apparently both Strider and Tumbler approve of the new faucet.

Now the next project to tackle in the bathroom is painting. We painted when we first moved in, but the wall color "Froggy Green" has waxed on Kev's nerves. So we are changing from bright bold green to a more subdued green. I was not about to give up my green bathroom. I just need to find the time to paint. Maybe this weekend.
